It's already mid-April! 2 more weeks then we are off for our May 1 holidays. Matthew and I have only booked tickets to Qinghai. Qinghai sits on the northeastern part of the Tibetan Plateau and it is also the origin of the mother river of China, Yellow River. The Qinghai-Tibetan Highway is also known to be one of the most beautiful route. We still yet have to plan out the details. But we are looking forward to some famous Xining yogurt!
So what have we been up to the last couple of weeks?
3-24
We had a "Cupcake Partyyy" hosted by our amazing baker, Nicole & Afsana. I went to help the ladies and learned some baking myself.
The event was fun - definitely sugar overload!!
Some of the boys even made rice crispy! Yum!
yum! Rice Crispy!
3-31 & 4-1
We did a biking and China camping with our co-worker, Linda and her Chinese friend, David. Matthew and I were quite proud of ourselves as for that weekend we biked a total of 140 km from Yongchuan to Dazu Rock Carving and we camped at a lake park (I forgot the name - have to ask Linda the name of the town). The biking between places is amongst busy roads so that is not so much fun with annoying trucks honking at you and dust flying everywhere, filling our nostrils. But the lake park is quite nice as it wasn't busy. The second day as we were about 1.5 hrs away from YC, Linda and David tricked us, telling us that David left his ID card at the park. Matthew and I were like "nooooo" we can't bike back with you! We were feeling our thighs burning! Then they laughed and said "Happy April Fools"! They were good!
It was a good get away weekend!
Someone was tired!
Our bikes and tent
Beautiful day & country-side

More Food from Weng's Kitchen:
We bought this guilty 2.6 kg of cheese from Metro.
Matthew joked that his body needs to get use to cheese again.
Using cheese, I have made nachos, pizza, and burger!
We have been watching this TV series, called "The Band of Brothers".
It's about the paratroopers in World War II.
I enjoy the show as its portrays of WWII and what it was really like are very detailed.
We also watch "No Reservation-with Anthony Bourdain" if we have time. Matthew's friend said that he's like Anthony Bourdain traveling in foreign places and eating exotic food. I like the show as it brings memory of the places I have traveled to myself.
Friday YC Street BBQ!
Need to get ready for Great Wall 1/2 Marathon!
